The Most Referred Survey...
How did the Survey work ? - top
In 1997, Most Referred commissioned a national survey with over 225,000 telephone interviews. We surveyed top agents in over 2,500 market areas including 7,000+ cities across North America. Of the agents that we interviewed, 86% were in the top 20% of their city (based upon the top sales criteria).
During the telephone survey interview agents were asked a simple but important question, "if you were not selling real estate in your market tomorrow, to whom would you refer your valued clients, friends and family members to on the basis of honesty, integrity, market knowledge and superior customer service."
The first of its kind in North America, we also believe the Most Referred survey is the largest primary-source survey ever undertaken to discover the integrity of members in any profession; in either Canada, or the USA.
The survey took two years to complete, and when the 225,000+ nominations were finally tabulated, the Most Referred Award was presented to the Top 3 Most Referred Real Estate Agents in each city. The company then built the websites that make up the Most Referred Network and began the process of making these trusted professionals accessible to the public. Today, Most Referred Real Estate Agents are available to you through the Most Referred Network.
Can Agents vote for themselves? - top
Real Estate Agents are asked if they were no longer in the business, which agent would they trust to list or sell their own home and with their valued clients. The earning ability of nominees was not a consideration. The criteria was as follows:
- Level of client service
- Perceived integrity of the nominee
- They could not vote for themselves, or a relative
- They could not vote for more than 2 agents in their office
Is the Survey a public opinion poll? - top
The person who advertised the most or who has the greater number of listings or perhaps the most business in an area could probably drive a public poll. Our goal is very different from a public opinion survey. We find the best by surveying fellow professionals. Real Estate Agents were asked who would they like to have sell, or advise them about property if they were no longer in the business themselves? Who would they recommend? By asking these questions we believe we have eliminated the chance of our survey becoming a 'popularity contest'. It's a great honor to be considered a professional of high integrity by your peers and competitors in the same industry!
